Medals

Legacy Medals are items hidden in most levels. In the Wii and 3DS versions, they are octagonal, while in the Wii U version, they are round. They have the logo of the Naga Empire embossed on their surface.

When they are present, there are always 9 medals per level:

  • 5 bronze medals
  • 3 silver medals
  • 1 gold medal

Locations[]

Door

In the Wii version, there are 3 doors in each level that has Legacy Medals, and 3 of the medals (1 bronze, 1 silver and 1 gold) are located behind one of these doors. The rest of the medals are hidden throughout the level.

Each door requires a certain number of Gravitons to be opened, and leads to a bonus area with 2D gameplay. To get the medal, Rodea must be powered-up to break the metal blocks obstructing the path. In addition, the medal will often be protected by electric walls or other hazards. Each door disappears after being crossed, so the player only has one shot at getting the medal.

In the Wii U/3DS version, all 9 medals are hidden throughout the level.

For the exact location of the medals in each level, refer to the Chapter pages:

Uses[]

In the Wii version, the Dark Rodea costume becomes available upon obtaining all of the Legacy Medals.

In the Wii U/3DS version, medals can be spent in the Unlock Area to unlock various content.

Bonus for collecting all medals[]

In the Wii U and 3DS version, besides being able to unlock everything in the unlock menu as long as you've met the prerequisite, you are given a picture of Ion, congratulating you for getting them all.
