Gravitons are small green orbs and are Garuda's main source of power.

The main source of Gravitons are yellow star-shaped floating crystals (also referred to as Gravitons) found all over Garuda, often arranged in rows. Each star collected gives 1 Graviton.
Gravitons can also be obtained by breaking blue crystals which are commonly found on the ground in Garuda.
In the Wii version of the game, Gravitons can be obtained by defeating enemies. Enemies normally award 3 Gravitons when defeated, but if the player destroys several enemies without touching the ground in-between, each enemy will give 1 more Graviton than the previous one, for a maximum of 8. In the Wii U/3DS version, only a small number of enemies give Gravitons when defeated.
Other sources of Gravitons are:
- Items capsules containing 5, 10 or 20 Gravitons
- Checkpoint bells (each will give 3 Gravitons when rung, and can be rung up to 3 times)
- Some of the crates
- Green coconuts in Chapter 8 (1 Graviton each)
- (Only in the Wii version) rainbow-colored octahedral crystals, often seen while using a warp point (1 Graviton per crystal destroyed)
Uses[]
- The player will earn a life for every 100 Gravitons collected in a level.
- In the Wii U/3DS version, Gravitons collected while flying will restore flight energy. Moreover, Gravitons can be spent as emergency fuel when out of flight energy.
- In the Wii version, most levels contain doors that require a certain number of Gravitons to enter (each door leads to a Legacy Medal).
- At the end of each level, a rank is awarded based on the number of Gravitons possessed. In the Wii U/3DS version, there's also a rank for the longest chain (Gravitons collected in a row without landing).
- In the Wii U/3DS version, Rodea can use a special attack called Shining Bullet if he has 50 Gravitons or more.
